Ironwood is on Myspace.

For the latest information on upcoming Ironwood performances please see the Tour section.

2/9/08 - We've just posted an unmixed excerpt of the song Jarnviðr Gallows fron the debut album :Fire:Water:Ash: to our Myspace page - enjoy!

20/8/08 - Help spread the word about :Fire:water:ash: - insert the banner above into your Myspace, website and whatever else with the following code:

12/8/08 - Debut Album :Fire:Water:Ash: now in the mixing stages!

Yes, we are finally in the home stretch, though we are probably still looking at a few months before the album is ready.

We have also settled on a title for the album - :Fire:Water:Ash:

I am pleased to say that, although it was a huge and somewhat demoralising undertaking to completely re-record every last shred of vocals, the result is absolutely worth it. Both the recording quality and the performances captured are a vast improvement - as are the lyrics.

Soon we'll have some more indicative advance mixes from the tracks for your listening pleasure. We're already hard at work composing a follow-up (an extended EP to be entitled "Storm Over Sea").

Oh and for those who are interested - you might like to check out my new website, Elhaz Ablaze. There is also a new review of our (now well and truly venerable) debut EP in the Media area.

Stay True

Henry/Ironwood

25/6/08 - Here is a review of our set at Chaos ACT from metalobsession.net:

""Ironwood, in all honesty were one of my favourite bands to watch of the weekend. Hands down the best show i’ve ever seen them put on. This band has amazing musicianship, very progressive adding a few different styles in their music to give themselves what I believe to be a sound of their own - worldwide. Their music is very technical and has some of the hugest bass lines i’ve ever seen. All 3 front men sharing the vocal duties, catchy beats… I dont think I need to say too much more.. get this band on your line-ups!"

8/5/08 - We have unfortunately had to cancel our gigs on Friday 9th May and Saturday 24th May due to injury and illness.

In more positive news the re-recording of vocals is almost complete. We are proud to announce the track titles for the debut full-length (although the final order may vary slightly):

Önd Ascending
The Oncoming Storm
The Raven Song
Jarnviðr Gallows
The Serpent Seeks its Tail
Tide of Memory
Love in Death
River of Fire
Eihwaz Descending

29/3/08 - Ironwood headlines the Festival of Loki today. We have recently cut off some dead wood in preparation for the coming winter. Pruning now for superior growth later unfortunately has short-term consequences, in this case delaying our recording process. This also means that temporarily we only have one track up on our Myspace page, an excerpt of the demo version of River of Fire. But we’ll have more tracks up soon as well as downloadable MP3 tracks on the website again.

7/1/08 - New review added in the Media section, also don't forget to come out and see us perform on Jan 13 and Feb 1 (see Tour for details).

In other news, due to demand Ironwood's Henry Lauer (vocals/bass) will give a second solo acoustic performance on Saturday 26th January 2008 at The Harp Hotel (900 Princes Hwy, Tempe) at 8pm. He'll be supporting Sword Toward Self, Aeon of Horus (Canberra) and Templestowe (Canberra).

22/12/07 - Check the Tour section for performances coming up early in 2008.

3/12/07 - Ironwood has been included in the 2007 Pyromusic Best Australian Metal Release of 2007 poll.

How do we win? If enough people vote for us! So if you like our work please head to this link and register your vote.

3/12/07 - Ironwood in the Studio...

We're pleased to report that things are progressing well, with the last of the vocals likely to be completed by the end of 2007. Its going to be a slog but we're aiming to have everything ready for mixing by January.

While the final album will hopefully be done by March, we are currently in negotiations with an excellent German label and once this is complete there will likely be a few more months prior to release while marketing begins... but in the meantime we'll get started on the next release...

We're very grateful for the incredible support we've received from so many people this past year and we hope that our debut full length will fully deliver on the promise that so many have seen in us.

20/11/07 - Ironwood has confirmed one final gig for 2007, despite vocalist/guitarist Matt Raymond suffering from torn ligaments in his ankle) We'll be at the Resonant Chaos Mini-festival - please see the Tour section for details. Meanwhile, we are in the death throes of recording our debut full length...

25/10/07 - Our debut EP and t-shirts are now available direct from our website (thanks to Paypal). See the Merchandise section.

We have commenced laying down vocal tracks for the debut album - the end is coming into view.

Finally, it is possible we may return to the stage one last time in 2007... more on that to come...

6/10/07 - With a very satisfying conclusion to our live performances for the year behind us, we are now hunkering down to complete the debut full length. So far everything is recorded except for solos and vocals... stay tuned early/mid 2008 for this release!

If you would like to get a copy of the Debut EP, check out The Cave, Pagan Lands Media or Sentinel Distro or contact us directly!

4/9/07 - Ironwood's return to Sydney audiences proved to be a triumphant one, with a fantastic response at Under The Blue Moon... it looks, however, like we will probably only play one more gig this year on Saturday September 15 as we are focussing now on completing our debut album. We'll be headlining at the Harp (900 Princes Hwy, Tempe) with support from Sword Toward Self, Synperium and Daemon Foetal Harvest. Doors open 7.30pm, its going to be a great night as it will also serve as Dan's birthday celebration. This will likely be our last gig in 2007 so you definitely need to come...

30/7/07 - Ironwood is pleased to announce that we have received a glowing review and had a song featured on the sample CD in the current issue of Zero Tolerance magazine. In other news we have more gigs booked and the recording process is going well - we are currently aiming to have everything done in time for a very early 2008 release, which may seem like a long time ... but we prefer to allow ourselves more time than we need, according to the principle of under-promising and over-delivering.

We are honoured to have been interviewed by Chronicles of Chaos webzine - you can read the interview here.

Finally, we have finally added photographs of our T-shirts in the merchandise section. Contact us to get yours.

4/7/07 - We are pleased to announce that we will be supporting Beastianity at this years Under The Blue Moon festival in Newtown on 1st September 2007. The Veil will also join us, more details to come. We have commenced recording on the debut album with drums tracked and bass almost complete so far.

19/6/07 - Following a very successful mini-tour of Canberra and Wagga, we are now entering the preparatory stages for completing our debut release. Recording will commence in the last days of June. We have also added another review link in the Media page.

11/5/07 - We've received a slew of very positive feedback for our EP in recent days, check it out at the Media page.

2/5/07 - We've just completed a long run of performances, with the highlight being a berzerk audience response in Canberra. We've now got Ironwood t-shirts available (contact us for size availability), which are looking very good indeed. We will soon have Paypal set up to make buying these and our EPs much easier (assuming you can't make it to a performance).

There are a few more gigs coming on the Tour page, including our first ever acoustic slot, headlining at the Scarborough-Wombarra Bowling Club in late May.

We are now turning our thoughts towards the recording process, particularly as we have been fielding some record label interest from overseas. Check out the Media section for recent EP reviews.

3/4/07 - Our first review is in from a large EP mailout we did a few weeks ago - head to the Media section for the link! Expect to have more soon. We'll be unveiling some new compositions in our next run of gigs towards mid-end of April. Hope to see you there.

Also, thanks to a heathen benefactor, Ironwood will soon have our very own t-shirst available for purchase. More on that soon.

17/3/07 - Ironwood has had an amazing run, with a multitude of live performances and amazing audience response. On Monday we were invited in to The Dead End on 2RRR as special guests to talk about our music, a real joy and priviledge.

We've retreated to our cave for a month now to perfect some new material and have booked a string of dates in April (see the Tour section) to unveil the fruits of our efforts. We've also been finding some amazing fans and supporters coming out of the woodwork: folks offering material help, regulaly attending our performances, and even a few solitary heathens coming out of the isolation to make contact!

2/2/07 - We launched our EP on 26 January 2007. The audience was fantastic and we were pleased with our performance - and we are deeply impressed by all those fans who were willing to wait through a long night to see us perform. A huge vote of thanks to our friends in The Veil, who supported us with a powerful and pathos-laden set.

We've got a few gigs coming up (see the tour section), including a couple of Free performances on Thursday nights at the Empire Hotel in Annandale. This is a great venue and we're very excited to be able to bring our unique musical geist to audiences there.

13/1/07 - We have several more performances coming in February - dates to follow shortly. The gallery and sounds sections have been updated as well.

3/1/07 - Our EP Launch is booked for Friday 26 January 2007 at the Mandarin Club, near Central Station, Sydney. Supporting will be The Veil and others to be announced.

19/12/06 - Our EP is now available and we also now have a Myspace site. We are currently organising an EP Launch for early 2007.

17/11/06 - Our first performance at the Roxbury Hotel in Glebe with Syneidesis and Crooked Fiddle Band. It was an explosive night and a fantastic audience. We are on hiatus now until the new year - the EP should be available by the end of December - see the merchandise & sounds areas for more information.
